What is Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a safe mode of health preservation.

Acupuncture is not painful or something to be afraid of, if you’ve given blood or have tattoos, you have experienced much more discomfort.

At Christopher Nesbitt’s Port Macquarie clinic we stimulate the bodies ability to manage painful conditions such as back pain,
neck pain and shoulder pain, often with immediate relief.

Method

Acupuncture is a safe, medication-free mode of health preservation. It involves inserting fine needles to create a neurological effect, encouraging blood flow to the region.

The injury site

The body’s self-protection mechanism when in trauma is vasoconstriction of blood, or to shut down the injury site completely. In Chinese medicine this is called blood stagnation or stasis, resulting in pain and/or dysfunction.

The magic of acupuncture

The effect of needle insertion is vasodilation, extra blood flow to the injured site, and return of normal function.

That is the magic of acupuncture, it helps the body correct itself without the adverse reactions of some common medications.
